Coolux Intros Pandoras Box System for HD/SD 3D Real-time Compositing

Coolux International introduced the Pandoras Box MediaVision, MediaEngine and MediaViewer at NAB in Las Vegas April 24-28, 2006 booth C11636 central hall. The Pandoras Box system is a complete real-time compositing media server each with a 4K workspace in dual channels of 2K HD / SD outputs for ON-AIR and pre & post production.

Up to 8 Video layers and 24 graphic animation layers can be manipulated in real-time, each in true 3-Dimensional space, allow the user to manipulate simple and complex objects in a geometrically accurate X-Y-Z workspace for on-air or production work. Each layer contains a large number of sophisticated controls such as individual color correctors, keyers, FX engines and complete transition controls. Multiple outputs can be combined with horizontal and vertical edge blending, remarkable keystone correction, linearity controls and true 3D texture mapping to deliver up to HD output for real-time broadcast feeds, projection screens, plasma/LCD displays, LED and more.

A large number of servers can be networked together and controlled centrally or distributed to multiple operators to integrate seamlessly into any workflow, studio, venue, live event or special project. The Pandoras Box systems utilize a Gigabit 1000bT network backbone that allow the user to create expansive systems spread over large or small areas. One or more MediaViewers provide multiple remote viewing stations via CAT5e for preview and status, allowing Directors, LDs and other team members access to the system status while not degrading system performance.
